C. The poles of the horseshoe magnet are closer together. A bar magnet has its magnetic poles at two ends of it, such that the magnetic field created by these magnets has a longer path. Compared to this, in a horseshoe magnet, both of its poles are very close together, causing the magnetic field between the two opposite poles being very strong. Magnitude of magnetic force/field is inversely proportion to the distance, hence smaller the distance between poles in horseshoe magnet, stronger is the magnetic force
