Can someone show me a easier way to compare fraction factors and products. Example 3/5 X 4/7 less than, greater than or equal to. Please help! I know it's less than but don't know how it was done

The easiest way to compare two fractions is to convert them both into decimal form, and then compare their decimal values. 3/5 = 0.6 4/7 ≈ 0.57 We know that 0.6 is greater than 0.57, therefore we can conclude that 3/5 > 4/7
Take out the two fractions: 3/5 and 4/7 Do a cross multiplication Use the 7 under to multiply the 3 that is on top, that is = 21. So for the first fraction you have 21. Use the 5 under to multiply the 4 that is on top, that is = 20. So for the second fraction you have 20. So you are now comparing 21 and 20. 21 > 20, 21 is greater than 20. Therefore 3/5 > 4/7. It is greater than. You can use this procedure for comparing any two fractions.
