IUPAC - International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry Answer: (3) 2,2-dichloroheptane Note¹: According to IUPAC, the carbon numbering in the main chain of hydrocarbons depends on the positioning of the radicals and unsaturations. Note²: In the statement image, the structure of the compound is counted from right to left, due to the proximity of the radicals (dichloro). Note³:  We have seven carbons in the structure (heptane) and two branches (dichloro), so the name will be 2,2 dichloroheptane. I hope I have helped!
