First, add 5/6 to both sides of the equation. To do this, you will need to find a common denominator first. In this case, it would be 12. 12 is 2 * 6, so you need to do the same to the numerator (5). So you will get 10 because 2 * 5 is ten. Then, you add the numerators and keep the denominator the same. 10/12 + 11/12 = 21/12 So now, your equation is 2/3d = 21/12 To solve this, you have to divide both sides by 2/3. Remember, when you divide fractions, you must multiply by the reciprocal (flip the first fraction, then multiply). 3/2 * 21/12 = 63/36 But, 63 and 36 are both divisible by 9, so you can simplify it. 63 divided by 9 is 7 and 36 divided by 9 is 4. The answer is: d = 7/4
