So 9 Boys to 4 girls is your base ratio. 9 times three is 27, and the basic rule is whatever you do to the numerator you do to the denominator. So 4 times three is 12. So your equivelent ratio is 27 Boys: 12 Girls. When you add 27 and 12 together, you get 39. Hope I helped :D
