Orpheus was one of the gods of ancient Greek mythology.

Orpheus was actually named as a pre-eminent musician of the "Golden Age" of heroes. Orpheus' parentage is unclear and though all sources agree his mother was the Muse of epic poetry, Calliope, there is dispute over the identity of his father, some authors claiming he was the son of the Thracian king Oeagrus, others claim he was sired by the God of the sun and music, Apollo. So to make it easier to say, He is not EXACTLY a god. BUT He is considered somewhat of a "hero". He went on a journey to recover the Golden Fleece for King Pelias.Citation: http://www.ancientgreece.com/s/GreekMyths/Orpheus/(I have put the citation for plagiarism and copyright purposes!)Hope this helped! :)>^.^<(      ) ~
