Part 1. Using the two functions listed below, insert numbers in place of the letters a, b, c, and d so that f(x) and g(x) are inverses. f(x)= x+a ___ b g(x)=cx−d Part 2. Show your work to prove that the inverse of f(x) is g(x). Part 3. Show your work to evaluate g(f(x)). Part 4. Graph your two functions on a coordinate plane. Include a table of values for each function. Include 5 values for each function. Graph the line y = x on the same graph.

for f and g to be inverses a and d have to be the same number and c and b must be the same.  1. Pick these numbers a = d = 4 b = c = 2 [latex]f(x) =\frac{x+4}{2}[/latex] [latex]g(x)=2x-4[/latex] 2. f(x) = (x + 4)/2 x = (y + 4)/2 2x = y + 4 y = 2x - 4 = g(x) 3. [latex]g(f(x))=2(\frac{x+4}{2})-4[/latex] g(f(x))=x + 4 - 4 g(f(x)) = x 4.
