Normally, I would call the angles ABC and sides abc, but in this case we will use angles XYZ and sides xyz the 60° angle we will call angle X 90° angle will be angle Z and our missing angle (which we know is 30° because 90+60+30=180) will be angle Y The hypotenuse is side z which we know is 16. sin X = x/z OR z sin X = x 16 sin 60° = x [latex]16( \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2})=x \\ 8\sqrt{3} = x [/latex] cos X = y/z OR z cos X = y 16 cos 60° = y 16(1/2) = y 8 = y you can also use sin Y = y/z OR  z sin Y = y 16 sin Y = y 16 (1/2) = y 8 = y x=8√3 y=8
