"!PLEASE HELP!" What does the poem "Hope is a thing with feathers" by Emily Dickinson mean?

The poem is written metaphorically comparing to a "free spirited bird". For Dickinson, hope is always present and not even a violent storm can overcome hope. When we face challenges in life, she is trying to portray the feeling of comfort we get when we fall back on hope.
