The founding fathers were heavily influenced by ideas derived from Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome and the Enlightenment Era. Please recall two ideas/ principles from these influences that helped to shape the American Government.

1. DEMOCRACY. Americans did not invent democracy. The first users of democracy were from ancient greece. 2. REPUBLIC. The united states is a democratic republic (thus, democrats and republicans). The republic part of the government come from the ancient romans.
