Why do you think cats were so sacred to the Egyptians? Why do you think so many of their gods had animal heads?
Cats were sacred to the Egyptians as they were praised for controlling vermin and their ability to kill snakes. They were also seen as a prime example of grace. In addition to this, Egyptians worshiped Mafdet, a lion-headed goddess who represented justice. Many of the Gods were portrayed with animal heads as their actions were reflective of the abilities and traits of the animals that shared those characteristics.
